Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Hidden Information Labs Institute for this website and for everything the Institute offers through it: the HILI Archive membership, the Relational Architecture Course, webinars and other live sessions, 1:1 consulting, workbooks and other downloads, and the Institute's research tools. Please read them before you buy, register, or use the site. By using the website, or by buying, registering for, or taking part in any offering, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or buy any offering.
How these Terms are organized
- Part A. General terms: apply to everything the Institute offers.
- Part B. Product terms: extra terms for each kind of offering: B1 HILI Archive membership · B2 Relational Architecture Course · B3 Webinars, seminars, workshops and other live sessions (including The Architecture of Control) · B4 1:1 consulting · B5 Workbooks and other downloads · B6 Research tools, simulations and member resources
- Part C. Privacy, changes, law, and contact
If a product term in Part B conflicts with Part A, the Part B term applies to that product. For 1:1 consulting, the written confirmation we send you before you pay (hours, fee, and session time) also forms part of your agreement. The Privacy Policy (version privacy-2026-10-07) explains how we handle personal information.
Part A. General terms
A1. Who we are
The website and all offerings are operated by:
Hidden Information Labs Institute (Institut de Laboratoires d'Information Cachée), a not-for-profit corporation, federally incorporated and registered in British Columbia
Corporation Number: 1688008-8 · Business Number: 705234029
1055 West Georgia Street, Suite 2480, Vancouver, BC V6E 3P3, Canada
Email: info@hiddeninformationlabs.io (we do not have a business telephone line; please contact us by email)
Throughout these Terms, "Hidden Information Labs Institute," "HILI," "the Institute," "we," "us," and "our" mean the organization above. "You" means the person using the website or buying or taking part in an offering. The Institute's director is Dr. Anna Maria Matziorinis, who delivers the Institute's lectures, webinars and consulting on the Institute's behalf. When you buy from us, your contract is with the Institute.
A2. Who may buy, and accepting these Terms
- You must be at least 18 years old to buy an offering or create access to the portal.
- You accept these Terms when you tick the terms box on our site or at checkout and complete your purchase or registration. Each checkout records the version of these Terms you accepted (for example, terms-2026-10-08).
- If you buy for an organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it. Each access code, seat, or enrollment is still for one named person unless we agree otherwise in writing.
A3. Educational nature of everything we offer
Everything the Institute offers is educational, informational, and exploratory. The Institute is an independent research organization, and its platforms, tools, and content are part of an active research and development program, so features, content, and availability may change as the platform evolves.
The Institute does not provide medical advice or treatment; psychological, psychiatric, or mental-health assessment or treatment; psychotherapy or counseling; diagnosis of any kind; crisis support; or legal, financial, investment, tax, or human-resources advice. Taking part in any offering does not create a therapist-client, doctor-patient, clinician-patient, lawyer-client, financial adviser-client, or any other regulated professional relationship.
HILI sessions are consulting and education, not clinical care, therapy, or diagnosis (see B4). Tools produce reflections, scores, and visualizations for your own insight; they are not an assessment, diagnosis, or treatment (see B6).
A4. Your responsibility, and getting help
You are responsible for your own decisions and actions and for how you interpret and apply what you learn. We do not promise any particular outcome, whether personal, relational, professional, or financial.
The Institute is not an emergency or crisis service, and our email is not monitored continuously. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 (Canada and the United States) or your local emergency number. In Canada you can call or text 9-8-8, and in the United States 988, at any hour. If you need medical, psychological, legal, or financial help, please contact a qualified, licensed professional.
A5. Intellectual property and your license
All content on the website and in our offerings, including text, graphics, videos, audio, slides, documents, workbooks, visualizations, frameworks, methods, software, and tools (the "Content"), belongs to the Institute or its licensors. The frameworks and methods taught by the Institute were developed by Dr. Anna Maria Matziorinis and are used by the Institute under an exclusive license from her; those frameworks, the tools and materials derived from them, and related intellectual property remain her property. Sentinel NET and related names and marks are trademarks of the Institute.
We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Content you have access to for your own learning, and, where a product term in Part B says so, in your own professional work. Unless we agree in writing, you may not:
- copy, share, redistribute, publish, resell, sublicense, or rent any Content, or share your access code, join link, replay code, or download link;
- record, screen-capture, photograph, or download any session, video, or replay, except through download links we provide;
- use Content to teach, train, or deliver workshops or client work for others, or to build a competing product;
- upload or feed any Content into an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system for training, fine-tuning, or building datasets, or into any tool that keeps or reuses it.
Short quotations with attribution, for commentary or review, are welcome. What you create with our tools (your maps, notes, and analyses) remains yours; the tools do not.
A6. Access codes and the Archive Portal
- One person per code. Access codes are issued to one named person, are for that person only, and may not be shared, transferred, or resold.
- Misuse. We may suspend or end access if a code is shared, Content is redistributed, or these Terms are otherwise breached. Where reasonable, we will contact you first and give you a chance to explain or fix the problem. If we end paid access for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of what you paid.
- Logging in. To enter the portal you accept the current version of these Terms. When the Terms change, you will be asked to accept the new version once at your next login.
- Content changes. We may add, update, correct, reorganize, replace, or retire individual items over time. Where a product term in Part B makes a promise about content (for example, the Course in B2), that promise applies.
- Links that expire. For security, links to videos, files, and tools expire after a set time. You can open fresh links from the portal while your access is active.
A7. Conduct in live sessions and community spaces
Please be respectful. Do not share names, identifying details, or private information about other people, and avoid sharing your own health information or other sensitive details in chat or aloud. Speak about situations in general terms. Anything said in a group setting may be seen or heard by other participants, and we cannot guarantee its confidentiality. Do not record a session, harass, discriminate against, or disrupt others, or post spam or promotional material. We may remove content, or remove a participant whose conduct is abusive, harassing, or disruptive. A participant removed for that reason is not entitled to a refund, except where the law requires one.
A8. Recordings, participants, and artificial intelligence
- Sessions may be recorded. Live webinars, seminars, and workshops may be recorded. The facilitator will say when recording starts and stops. You may keep your camera and microphone off and ask questions in the chat.
- Participants are never published. Participants' faces and voices are never published. Any recording we make available to buyers or members shows only the facilitator and the slides (and other material we present); participants' faces, voices, names, and chat messages are removed. If you ask a question aloud, the facilitator may repeat or paraphrase it.
- Webinar recordings are for the replay only. A recording of a live webinar is used only to give that webinar's buyers a 30-day replay. It is never added to the HILI Archive and is never published anywhere else, including our website, social media, or marketing (see B3).
- Archive lectures are solo recordings. Lectures in the HILI Archive are separate recordings of Dr. Anna Maria Matziorinis presenting with slides, made without participants.
- No AI training on participants. We will never use participants' faces, voices, or likeness to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, and we will not allow any service provider acting for us to do so.
- Hosting. Recordings are hosted and streamed by Mux, Inc., our video-hosting provider.
- AI narration. Some Course videos use synthetic (AI-generated) narration produced with ElevenLabs text-to-speech tools. That narration is made from scripts we write. It is not a recording of Dr. Matziorinis speaking, and it is not made from any participant's or customer's voice.
- 1:1 consulting is recorded only if you and the Institute both agree in writing beforehand; any such recording is used only for your engagement and is never published (see B4).
A9. Prices, currency, taxes, and payment
- Prices and currency. Prices are shown on each product page and at checkout, with the currency stated (US dollars or Canadian dollars). The current prices are in the table at the start of Part B.
- Taxes. Prices are shown before applicable taxes, which are calculated at checkout where required.
- Currency conversion. If your card is in another currency, your bank or card issuer may charge conversion or foreign-transaction fees, and the amount in your currency may vary between charges. We do not control or receive these fees.
- Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe through Stripe Checkout. We never see or store your full card number.
- Price changes. A price change never affects something you have already paid for. Price changes for existing Archive members follow B1.
A10. Refunds and cancellations: the general rule
- All sales are final. We do not give refunds, credits, or exchanges if you change your mind, do not attend, or do not use what you bought. The only exceptions are (a) to (d) below.
- (a) If we cancel or cannot deliver. If we cancel a webinar, seminar, workshop, session, or other scheduled offering you paid for, you receive a full refund without having to ask. If we cannot deliver what you bought, or a problem on our side stops you from using it and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, you receive a full refund for the part not delivered.
- (b) If we must reschedule because of illness or an emergency. If we have to move a scheduled offering because the person leading it is ill or because of another emergency, you may keep your place for the new date. If you cannot attend the new time, you receive a full refund by asking within 7 days of our notice.
- (c) Faulty files. If a file you bought is faulty or will not open, tell us and we will replace it; if we cannot replace it, you receive a full refund.
- (d) Where the law requires a refund. Nothing in these Terms limits any right to cancel or to a refund that you have under the law of British Columbia or Canada, or under other consumer-protection law that applies to you. For example, British Columbia's rules for online (distance) contracts let you cancel in some situations, such as when the required information or a copy of the contract was not provided, or what you bought was not supplied on time. Where the law gives you such a right, we will honor it.
- How refunds are paid. Refunds go to the original payment method, in the currency you paid, within 15 days after we receive your request or send our cancellation notice.
- How to ask. Email info@hiddeninformationlabs.io from the address you used to buy, and say what you bought. We confirm every request by email.
Part B explains how these rules apply to each offering (for example, Archive renewals, missed consulting sessions, replays, and downloads).
A11. Emails: what you get when you buy, and what you never get without asking
- Purchase emails always arrive. When you buy, we send the emails needed to deliver what you bought: your receipt, access code, download link, join link, replay code, renewal reminders, and any schedule change. These are sent whatever your marketing preferences are, including if you have unsubscribed from marketing.
- Buying never subscribes you to marketing. We do not use our list of buyers for marketing, and we do not treat a purchase as consent to marketing emails.
- Lab updates are separate and opt-in only. HILI Lab Updates (news, research notes, events, and offerings) go only to people who sign up themselves on our subscribe page and then confirm by clicking the link in a confirmation email (double opt-in).
- Unsubscribing never affects what you bought. You can unsubscribe from Lab Updates at any time with the link in every message; your purchases, access, and purchase emails continue.
A12. Third-party services
We use outside providers to run our services, including Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting, storage, and security), Brevo (email), Whereby (live online sessions), Mux (video hosting), and ElevenLabs (AI voice for Course narration, made from scripts we write; no customer data is shared with ElevenLabs, see A8). Your use of their services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for outages or problems on their side, but where an outage stops us delivering something you paid for, A10 applies.
A13. Warranties and limitation of liability
We provide our Content, tools, and offerings with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, they are provided "as is," and research tools in beta may contain errors (see B6).
To the extent the law allows: (a) the Institute, its directors, officers, and the facilitator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for decisions you make or actions you take based on our Content; and (b) the Institute's total liability for any claim relating to an offering is limited to the amount you paid for that offering (for the Archive, the fees paid for the current membership year). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, or any right you have under consumer-protection law.
A14. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover the Institute's reasonable losses and costs from claims by others that arise because you breached these Terms, misused Content or an offering, or broke the law or someone else's rights.

Taxes are as set out in A9. An offering is on sale only when its page shows an active checkout.
B1. HILI Archive membership
What it is. Knowledge Stewardship of the HILI Archive is a yearly membership that gives you access, through the members' portal, to the Institute's lecture library (solo recordings of Dr. Anna Maria Matziorinis presenting with slides), research seminars in that form, slides, workbooks, and member tools. New releases appear in the portal during the year. Recordings are streamed (hosted by Mux) and are not downloadable unless a download link is provided.
What membership covers. Everything in the Archive except live sessions sold under B3 (webinars, seminars, workshops and other live sessions), which are sold separately; none of them is included in the membership. This includes the Relational Architecture Course, both lanes (Fast Path and Full Course), for as long as your membership runs. Recordings of live webinars are never part of the Archive (see A8).
Price. USD $750 per year, plus taxes as set out in A9.
Automatic renewal. The membership renews automatically. When you enroll, you pay for your first 12 months, which start on the date your access code is issued. Unless you cancel, your membership renews every 12 months on the anniversary of your enrollment date, and the payment method you used at checkout is charged the yearly fee for your membership on each renewal date, until you cancel. Stripe stores your payment method; we never see or store your full card number.
Reminder before each renewal. We email you at least 30 days, and no more than 45 days, before each renewal date, at the email address on your membership. The reminder states the renewal date, the amount and currency that will be charged, that your membership will renew unless you cancel, your right to cancel before or after the renewal date, and how to cancel.
How to cancel. You can cancel at any time, before or after a renewal date, by emailing info@hiddeninformationlabs.io until online self-service is available. Email us from the address on your membership with the subject "Cancel my Archive membership"; nothing else is needed. We confirm every cancellation by email. There is no cancellation fee or penalty.
What happens when you cancel. If you cancel before a renewal date, you are not charged again, and your access continues to the end of the 12-month period you have already paid for. After that, your access code stops working and portal access closes. Workbooks downloaded during your membership are yours to keep for personal use under A5.
Refunds. Membership fees, including renewal fees, are final, with the exceptions in A10. If you live in British Columbia, or anywhere else the law gives you this right, and you cancel after a renewal date, we will refund the unused portion of that renewal year, calculated as the law requires, within 15 days of your cancellation, and stop any further charges. If we decline your membership before access is granted, we refund everything you paid.
Price changes. Existing members keep renewing at the price they currently pay; a change to the price offered to new members does not change yours. If we ever need to change the price an existing member pays, we will email you at least 30 days before the renewal at which the new price would first apply, with the new price, the date it takes effect, and how to cancel. If you do not want to renew at the new price, you can cancel before that renewal at no cost. Members who joined before September 27, 2026 renew at their original rate.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we (through Stripe) will email you and try the payment again. If the payment is still not resolved 30 days after the failed renewal payment, the membership ends and portal access closes. There is no late fee.
Payment plans. Where a payment plan is arranged by email before you enroll, the yearly fee is spread across the term and access depends on payments being made in full and on schedule. If a scheduled payment is missed, we will contact you at the email address on file; if it is not received within 14 days of that notice, your access code will be withdrawn and portal access suspended until the account is brought current. If the account remains unpaid 30 days after suspension, the membership may be ended. Workbooks downloaded before suspension may be kept for personal use.
Reduced rates. A reduced or negotiated rate applies to the term in which it was granted and does not carry forward unless we agree in writing.
Members who joined before automatic renewal. Members who joined on the earlier manual-renewal terms are not moved to automatic renewal unless they agree to it themselves.
Tools and topics. Beta tools are provided as set out in B6. Topic requests and questions are reviewed and considered, with no guarantee that a specific request will be produced or a question answered. Membership does not include 1:1 support; consulting is sold separately (B4).
Your copy. With your confirmation email we send you these Terms (or a link to the exact version you accepted), with the date of your purchase. The summary of these terms on the Archive page repeats this section; if the two ever differ, this section applies.
B2. Relational Architecture Course
What it is. Relational Architecture for Firms (the "Course") is a self-paced professional-development course delivered through the members' portal, in two lanes: Fast Path (CAD $149) and Full Course (CAD $399). Each lane includes the videos, workbook PDFs, and course tools described for that lane on the Course page at the time you enroll. No live sessions, community access, or physical items are included unless the Course page says so.
One person per enrollment. Each enrollment is for one named learner. A firm may pay for staff, but needs one enrollment per learner unless we sign a separate written team agreement.
How long you have access. Access begins when your access code is issued and lasts 12 months from the date of purchase. It then ends automatically: the code stops working and portal access and download links end. Nothing renews and you are not charged again. You can re-enrol at any time at the price then shown; re-enrolment is a new purchase under the Terms then in force. If you have the Course through an Archive membership, your Course access lasts as long as that membership.
Starting immediately; refunds. Your access starts as soon as your access code is sent. At checkout you confirm that you want access to begin immediately. Course purchases are final, with the exceptions in A10. If you cannot access the Course, write to us and we will fix the problem; if we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, you receive a refund for the access you could not use.
Your license. In addition to A5, you may use what you learn in the Course in your own professional work and inside the organization you belong to. You may not use Course materials to teach, train, or deliver workshops or client work for others without our written permission.
AI narration. Some Course videos use synthetic (AI-generated) narration produced with ElevenLabs text-to-speech tools (see A8). That audio is Course narration; it is not a recording of Dr. Anna Maria Matziorinis speaking and is not presented as a live human instructor.
Concord, the course mapping tool. Concord helps you map how work moves through a group of people. It describes structure; it does not judge people. While your access is active you may use it to map your own working network and your own organization, for that organization's internal work, including where the organization is a business. You may not:
- resell, white-label, or offer Concord or its outputs (maps, exports, measures, reports) as a paid service or training for any other organization without a separate written license;
- use Concord or anything it produces to make or support decisions about any individual's hiring, firing, layoff, performance rating, pay, promotion, or discipline, or to monitor individuals.
Before you map real colleagues, write down why you are making the map, who will see it, and what it will not be used for; record working ties only, not views on anyone's competence, character, health, or private life; and use role-based pseudonyms by default (removing names is not anonymity). Concord's measures describe the map you built at one point in time; they do not predict performance or show cause and effect. Concord is a research build provided as set out in A13. It runs in your browser and saves your map only on your device; we cannot see, retrieve, or restore it. You are responsible for the privacy, employment, and confidentiality laws that apply to maps of real people. After your access ends, you may keep using materials you downloaded while your access was active for your own personal, non-commercial use; you may not share or resell them.
Certificates. No certificate, continuing-professional-development credit, or accreditation is offered unless the Course page says so.
Content changes. We may update, correct, or reorganize Course materials, but we will not reduce the core content of your lane in a material way during your access period.
B3. Webinars, seminars, workshops, and other live sessions
What you buy. A seat at a live online educational session and, where the event page says so, a replay. Each seat, join link, and replay code is for one person.
Platform. Live sessions run on Whereby, a video platform operated by Whereby AS (Norway). You join in a web browser; participants do not need a Whereby account. Please test your browser and connection beforehand. Whereby's own terms and privacy policy also apply to your use of it.
If you miss the live session. Where a replay is included, you can watch it instead. We do not give refunds for not attending or for problems with your own device or connection.
If we reschedule or cancel. We will email every registrant the new date and time at least 7 days before the original start, unless the change is due to an emergency, in which case we will tell you as soon as possible. You may keep your seat for the new date (with the replay counted from the new replay date) or, if you cannot attend the new time, ask for a refund as set out in A10. If we cancel without a new date, everyone receives a full refund automatically. If a problem on our side or Whereby's stops the session from being substantially delivered, we will provide the replay or a rescheduled session, or a full refund if we provide neither. If the replay is unavailable for a significant part of the replay period because of a problem on our side, we will extend your replay access by the same amount of time.
Recording and replay. See A8. The replay shows only the facilitator and the slides. It is streamed (hosted by Mux) to registrants with a replay code, is not downloadable, is used for nothing else, and is never added to the HILI Archive. At the end of the replay period we disable access and delete the replay from the hosting service. We delete the master recording and any edited copies no later than 60 days after the session.
Sensitive content. Some sessions discuss coercive dynamics, power asymmetry, surveillance, isolation, and other forms of control. You are free to step away, mute, turn off your camera, or leave at any time. If you are concerned that someone may be monitoring your devices or accounts, consider attending from a device and network you trust. Emergency and crisis contacts are in A4; in British Columbia and Yukon, VictimLinkBC offers confidential support at any hour (call or text 1-800-563-0808).
Limits of research. Findings discussed describe patterns observed across groups in published studies. They cannot determine what is happening in any single relationship or institution, and frameworks presented do not label any person as abusive, controlling, or harmed.
Accessibility. If you need an accommodation (for example, the slides in advance), please email us at least 7 days before the session and we will do our best to help. Automatic captions are offered where the platform (Whereby) provides them; we do not promise a transcript.

B4. 1:1 consulting
What it is. 1:1 sessions with Dr. Anna Maria Matziorinis, delivered for the Institute:
- Relational Architecture (USD $275 per hour): structural, network-layer consulting for a firm or team, covering load, position, trust, and extractive and dark patterns, and how work moves through relationships.
- Relational Wellbeing (USD $275 per hour): personal structural consulting.
HILI sessions are consulting and education, not clinical care, therapy or counseling, diagnosis, or crisis support. It is not legal, human-resources, financial, or tax advice. No outcome is guaranteed.
How a booking works. Sending a request on the sessions page does not book a time or take payment. A requested time is not held until we confirm it. Your contract starts when we confirm in writing (the hours, the fee, and the session time) and you pay. Hours are prepaid. Sessions are by video unless we agree otherwise in writing. A short written note is provided only if we agree to it in advance, and it is billed. Unused prepaid hours expire 12 months after purchase and are not transferable unless we agree in writing.
Rescheduling and missed sessions. To reschedule, tell us at least 48 hours before the session start (Eastern Time). A session missed or canceled with less notice is forfeited and not refunded. If we need to reschedule, we will tell you at least 7 days before the session, unless the change is due to an emergency (for example, if the consultant is ill); we will offer another time and the hour is not used up. Otherwise A10 applies.
Confidentiality. Each of us will use the other's non-public information only for the engagement and will not disclose it, except to advisers bound to keep it confidential or where the law requires. Session notes, if any, are kept minimal. What you tell us about your firm remains yours.
Recording and materials. Neither of us records a session unless we both agree in writing beforehand (see A8). You may use what you learn in your own work and inside your own organization, but you may not resell, republish, or feed our materials or notes into AI training.
Liability. As in A13, limited to the fees you paid for the hours the claim relates to.
B5. Workbooks and other downloads
Personal Network Audit, Fifth Edition (USD $75) is a self-study workbook: a structured set of reflective exercises for mapping your relational network. After payment we email you a private link to download the PDF. The link expires after 7 days; if it expires, reply to the email and we will send a fresh one. The purchase email only delivers your download; it does not sign you up for anything.
- License. A personal-use license for one individual. Do not share, post, or resell the file or the link (see A5).
- Educational only. The workbook is a self-study tool for personal reflection and education, not a diagnostic instrument or therapy, and it makes no health claims.
- Refunds. Final once the download link has been sent. If the file is faulty or will not open, tell us and we will replace it or, if we cannot, refund you (A10 (c)). Refunds the law requires are not affected.
Other paid downloads follow this section unless their product page says otherwise.
B6. Research tools, simulations, and member resources
This section covers the Institute's interactive tools and resources, including Sentinel NET, the Auditor (Personal Network Audit tool), the Basin Profiler, The Interval, Concord (see B2), the simulations on the website, and the member decks and workbooks under /resources.
- Who can use them. The Auditor, the Basin Profiler, The Interval, Sentinel NET, and the /resources materials are for members and open from the portal; simulations on the public site are free to explore. Concord is a Course tool: it opens from the Course in the portal for Course learners in either lane (Fast Path or Full Course) and for Archive members, whose membership includes the Course, while their access is active, on the terms in B2 (see also B1).
- Educational and self-guided. Tools produce reflections, scores, and visualizations from what you enter. They reflect your own assessments processed through standard network-science models, not an objective measurement of any relationship or person, and they are not an assessment, diagnosis, or treatment of any kind. The Interval supports general breathing and nervous-system practice; it is not a medical device and makes no health claims. If a paced breath is uncomfortable, stop and breathe normally, and anyone with a respiratory, cardiac, or other health condition should ask their own doctor before changing how they breathe.
- Beta software. Tools are in active development and may contain errors; calculations are for illustration and their accuracy is not guaranteed, and features may change or be withdrawn.
- Your data stays on your device. What you enter is processed in your browser and saved only in your browser's storage. It is not sent to or stored on our servers, and we cannot see or restore it. Clearing your browser data deletes it permanently, so export anything you want to keep. The only thing sent to us is a record that you accepted a tool's disclosures: the tool, the disclosure version, a random session identifier, the time, and a one-way hash of your IP address (a scrambled form, not the address itself). This record contains no name or email address; see C1 and the Privacy Policy.
- Before first use. Each member tool asks you to accept its disclosures and these Terms. When these Terms or a tool's disclosures change, you are asked again once.
Part C. Privacy, changes, law, and contact
C1. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy (version privacy-2026-10-07) explains what personal information we collect, why, who processes it for us (including outside Canada), how long we keep it, and your rights. In short: we collect the minimum we need; access-code and purchase consent records contain no name, email, or IP address (tool consent records hold only a one-way hash of your IP address); what you enter into a tool stays in your browser; we do not sell personal information or use it for advertising; and marketing email goes only to people who confirmed a Lab Updates sign-up.
C2. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Each version has a version name and date at the top, and we keep every version. A new version applies to purchases and registrations made after it is published. It does not change a purchase you have already made unless you agree, or unless the change only gives you more rights. For Archive memberships, we will email you at least 30 days before any change to your membership terms takes effect, explain the change, and, if it is less favorable to you, you may cancel before it takes effect without charge. Portal users accept the current version at their next login. Purchases made before this version was published remain governed by the version accepted at the time, except where this version is more favorable to you.
Previous versions are listed on our Terms archive page, or available by emailing info@hiddeninformationlabs.io.
C3. Governing law and where disputes are decided
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes may be brought in the courts of British Columbia. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live, and it does not stop you from bringing a claim in the courts where the law allows you to.
C4. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right right away, we have not waived it. These Terms, the product page for what you bought, your checkout confirmation, and (for consulting) our written confirmation are the whole agreement between us about that purchase. These Terms are provided in English.
C5. Your copy
You can read and save these Terms before you buy. With your purchase confirmation we email you a copy of, or a link to, the exact version you accepted, with the date. You can ask for a copy at any time.
